Special Offers – we all love a bargain!

In these tough times, people love a bargain more than ever and the rise in popularity of voucher websites such as Groupon prove this.

Whilst vouchers, discounts and special offers are a great quick fix to get customers through the door and buying you product or service, we think that if supported in the right way they present an amazing opportunity to offer long term business growth by encouraging repeat business.

When someone redeems a voucher or takes up a special offer they are doing so because you offer a product or service that they want. Rather than making it a one-off purchase, why not offer an incentive on repeat business or offer a referral scheme to get people talking?

As any business owner knows,  the hardest part is winning the initial business, but the offer has done that for you so why not think longer term and look at ways to keep that business?

Every business is different and as a business owner you are the one best placed to know what will work for your clients in your marketplace, but here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling:

  • Loyalty schemes – These are a great way to incentivise repeat business – why not offer customers a gift or discount after they have made a set number of purchases?
  • Try before you buy – This works by offering new customers a product or service at a set price without any ongoing commitment. If satisfied, customers can them be encouraged to sign up on a more formal basis. (Have you seen ours? click here)
  • Added extras - Customers love to feel that they are getting something for nothing. Deals such as buy 10 products or hours and receive 2 free offer a great incentive to do business with you and are often work out to be much more cost effective than you may think.

What special offers do you make in your business and what has worked really well for you?  Let us know, we’d love to hear from you!
